raydropd is an app for sharing one song a day with people all over the world. It is made and operated by Valentino Cipriota, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina ("we"), who is responsible for your data. Here's exactly what data of yours we use and why.
Only to make the app work: showing your raydrops, computing your rays (streaks), building the daily charts, suggesting people to follow, reviewing reports, and keeping you signed in. We never sell or rent your data, we don't use it for advertising, and we make no automated decisions about you.
Your username, picture, country, raydrops and their captions, songs of the moment, rays, comments and follower/following lists are visible to any raydropd user, in any country, not only your followers. Some raydrops (with their username and picture) are also shown as examples to visitors who don't have an account yet. Your email is never visible.
When you search for a song, the text you type is sent to Apple (iTunes) to fetch results, artwork and 30 second previews, and the chosen song's title is looked up on Spotify to build its link. These lookups go through our server and are not linked to your account or carry any of your data. The Spotify and Apple Music buttons take you to those services, which have their own policies.
In Supabase, our database, hosted on AWS servers in São Paulo (Brazil). The site is served by Netlify (United States), and Google or Apple sign-in is handled by Google and Apple. These providers process data only to provide us the service. Because those countries are outside Argentina, by using raydropd you agree to your data being transferred and stored there.
For as long as you have your account. If you delete it (in the app or at raydropd.com, "profile → settings → delete my account"), everything is erased immediately and forever: raydrops, comments, likes, followers, your profile picture and the account itself. There is no way back and we retain no copies. If you can't sign in, write to us and we'll delete it for you.
You can access, correct or delete your data anytime: username, picture and country from within the app, everything else by writing to us. We answer within the time the law sets. In Argentina you are protected by Personal Data Protection Law 25,326, supervised by the Agency for Access to Public Information (AAIP), which handles complaints from anyone whose data rights are not respected. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom you have the equivalent GDPR rights, and in Brazil those of the LGPD.
raydropd is for people 16 or older, or older if the law where you live requires it for using social apps without a parent or guardian. If you're under that age, please don't create an account; if we detect one, we'll delete it and its data. If you're a parent or guardian and think your child opened an account, write to us.
If we change this policy we'll update this page and the date above. For significant changes we'll let you know inside the app.
